# Burn Tokens

### How It Works

1. Open the token dashboard and click "Burn Tokens" in the header
2. Select a wallet that holds tokens
3. Enter the amount to burn (or check "Burn All & Close Account")
4. Type "BURN" to confirm

Tokens are burned on-chain. They're gone for good.

### Configuration

#### Wallet

Select which wallet to burn tokens from. Only wallets with a token balance are shown.

#### Amount

How many tokens to burn. Use the Max button to set the full wallet balance.

#### Burn All & Close Account

Check this to burn every token in the wallet and close the token account entirely. This reclaims \~0.002 SOL in rent. When enabled, the amount field is disabled since everything gets burned.

### Confirmation

Burning is destructive and irreversible. You'll see a summary of what's about to happen — wallet address, amount, and whether the account will be closed — and you must type "BURN" to proceed.

### Why Burn

* Reduce circulating supply
* Remove tokens from wallets you no longer need
* Close empty token accounts to reclaim rent SOL
